...talking original used motors... one in the shop right now (and will be gone soon hopefully) sport 600s, 720cc inj, greddy ics, adjustable fuel press,
dual pop, jwt 720 prog, extrude ex manifolds, other stuff
you need/want on an engine like that... #6 piston gave up under apparently correct operating
conditions. injectors are good, no signs of cooling sys
failure, turbos were healthy, etc... likely culprit is an unhealthy piston since nobody can find
any other flaws. that was a stock block/heads with ~85k miles in what we
would call "average" condition. It had the parts to run
the 600s within their limits (beyond actually) and it
had an engine failure @20psi of boost on the highway. (btw...that answers nothing....as do most of the "this is
why I think my engine failed" posts on the net...but there
it is....too much undocumented history)
